In a country blighted by the neglect of its government and its general population, there are occasionally moments that help restore faith in humanity. A few days ago, the People’s Republic of San Francisco provided such a moment.
A group of good Samaritans at a coffee shop refused to stand idly by as a cowardly thug tried to steal a woman’s laptop, according to NBC Bay Area News. The media pointed out that the attempted theft occurred at the Sanaa Cafe near the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
An employee at the cafe told NBC Bay Area that the thief slipped into the back of the cafe and quickly snatched the woman’s Apple MacBook before rushing out the front door, thinking he had gone home.
But unlike many citizens, patrons inside the cafe took action. Video captured during the incident shows a man, identified by KRON 4 News as Henry Flynn, rushing out of the cafe and deftly tackling the thief to the ground.
Other patrons then joined in to assist Flynn. They began grabbing the offender’s arms and legs, holding him down until police arrived.
San Francisco police arrested the suspect, Zachary Morris-Dadzie, 19, of Suisun. The film ends with Flynn explaining to the police what happened.

Flynn told KRON 4 News he learned from police that the man grabbed a laptop from a woman who was sitting inside. Thanks to the help of Flynn and other brave customers, the computer was later returned to the woman.
Flynn also revealed that his phone screen broke while he was babysitting a mobster, but the victim and her husband offered to pay him to have it repaired. Flynn did not say whether he accepted their offer.
Despite Flynn’s courageous actions, he doesn’t consider himself a hero. “Most people want to do the right thing,” he explained. It only takes one person to really lead and others will follow,”
Flynn, a fourth-generation San Franciscan, also told KRON 4 News that he is raising money to run for mayor this November.
“I think I represent the silent majority of this city — the working class, the bread and butter of this city,” Flynn said. “I think what we need right now is to be in that coffee shop where we all come together. The same thing happened at the museum.
“We need this service citywide,” he continued. “We need everyone who is invested in the heart and soul of this city to come together.”
KRON 4 reports that Morris-Dazzi escaped the attack unharmed. He was booked into jail and charged with grand larceny and second-degree burglary.
