America’s craziest concepts have a tendency to return from the Folks’s Republic of San Francisco, and this newest stunt ranks because the craziest on the market.
The San Francisco Chronicle reported earlier this week that police within the metropolis have begun donning inflatable hen costumes to arrest drivers who break the regulation. San Francisco police Lt. Jonathan Ozol was carrying one of many inflatable costumes as he clumsily tried to navigate a crosswalk on Alemany Avenue on Monday morning.
The aim of the stunt is to ticket drivers who violate state regulation by failing to yield to pedestrians. The division reviews that many drivers fail to take action.
watch:
Police Chief Amy Hurwitz instructed the San Francisco Chronicle she believed the drill would deter drivers from hitting individuals.
“I do not need them to get run over,” she mentioned. “However the costume was so brilliant, like, how may you miss it?”
One may argue that San Francisco has extra urgent issues and that the police division should not be losing taxpayer cash on dressing up in embarrassing costumes. San Francisco has been affected by large homelessness and drug issues for years, with criminals operating rampant as Marxist native officers refused to implement primary legal guidelines.
Residents and companies have been fleeing the realm for years, and people who stay want a map to know methods to keep away from human waste on the streets.
As anticipated, social media customers had some wild ideas in regards to the stunt:
